At the young age of 2 she first appeared in a television show as a young child on the Don Mahoney Kids Trooper show. After ten years of dancing and singing, her mother and she went for a trip to L.A. to try and see if a show business career was feasible. She got her first job as a professional performer in just two months: Danny Kaye's show The Danny Kaye Show. The actress says "I have used my training as a dancer and singer in a variety of ways." It's a fantastic discipline for actors." O'Toole's acting debut was My Three Sons. This was immediately followed with Gunsmoke. The Mod Squad. and Hawaii Five-O. O'Toole has been a part of more than 40 television series. Although she is famous both in television and film she is a theater enthusiast. Following her stint of six years in Smallville she decided to concentrate on theatre, something she had been doing in the past ten years. Following her move to New York, she had her debut on stage on Broadway in The Sea Gull. She's performed in numerous off Broadway productions, including Adam Rapp's "Kindness", Tracy Letts Man from Nebraska in addition to Tennessee Williams A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
